The hallmark of the region are the state parks and reserves that offer unspoiled wilderness, hiking, cave exploration, waterfalls, and more.
Within a short drive of the Grand Bentley Lodge are Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave. These parks are the most well known and draw hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
Old Man's Cave offers a hike down and through a large cave, Cedar Falls allows visitors to walk down to and swim in the pool of a large waterfall, and Ash Cave offers a hike both into and on top of an epic cave. For the more adventurous, multi-mile long hiking trails connect the three parks.
Also nearby are Conkles Hollow and Rock House. These parks are less well known but just as impressive. Conkles Hollow offers a leisurely hike through the woods, and Rock House provides rugged hiking and climbing through rock formations.
Cantwell Cliffs and Lake Logan are other popular attactions near Grand Bentley Lodge. Cantwell Cliffs is out-of-the-way and offers some of the best adventure hiking in the area. Lake Logan provides fishing, boating, and swimming for those needing a break from a rough day of hiking.
